Undoubtedly, rapid bus enables disabled people to move away from home and have many new experiences. I like to ‘lepak’(loitering), to meet friends, to join social activities……….fondly remembered today..without go out we can’t enjoy this wondrous times. However, we still lacking only one tiny crucial item- usable pavement at bus stop and sidewalks. It is good to have accessible transportation system based on Universal Design to ensure all people can use it safely.
I believe many disabled people would like to have independent living and unlikely to cause trouble. Unfortunately, we always at risk of injury due to unfriendly environment. It is true we can’t.. because it is the failure of society to meet our “normal” needs as impaired people.
